So you’re proud of having a full bush?
I am, actually. When I was a little girl, I couldn't WAIT to have one, because I knew that meant I was a woman. I still see pubic hair as a sign of full sexual maturity and being ready for the rut!
Why do you love pubes?
I like the feel of pubes, both on men and women. They feel soft and inviting, like a nest where there's something wonderful hiding. I also think pubes are a reminder of our fabulous animal nature, something I think we all too often forget about. Sex was meant to be down and dirty, rough and tumble, not all scrubbed and sanitised and smelling like Radox.
Have you ever shaved?
I have, though never completely. Always had a landing strip.
Why?
Mostly to wear high cut swim suits. Then when I realised I was a landlubber and not a beach bunny, and my favourite place to be in the water was my own bathtub, it didn't matter so much anymore.
Any tips for keeping it?
I wrote a story called Topiary. It had to do with sculpting pubes, not shaving them but getting seriously artistic with the deep lovely curl of them. Best tip, just have fun with them. That's what they're there for.
How does it contribute to sex?
Biologically, pubic hair and underarm hair are places where our sexy scent can collect for the opposite sex to partake of. That's a part of being a mammal. We used to recognise each other by our scent. Mammals live through their noses, though we humans have forgotten that a little bit. (I get really upset when people say arm pit hair and pubes are unsanitary. They're no less sanitary than the hair on our head, and they're far more sanitary than our hands are after a ride on the Tube.) And though I am most definitely a smell person, what I really LOVE is the feel, the softness, the animalness. I find that outrageously arousing. I love the way it feels in intercourse and I love the way it feels in masturbation.
Do the characters in your book have a full bush?
My main characters do. Most of them practice 'sculpting,' keeping them trimmed, but no Brazilians for my chicks.
Is the bush coming back into fashion?
I certainly hope so because I think there's a whole generation of women that have missed out on one of the seriously sexy parts of being sexually mature animals, and it's definitely NOT to be missed.
What do you say to people who think pubes are ugly?
It makes me sad really. I think it's another judgment we women pronounce on each other because that's what the 'sex fashion police' are touting at the moment. I like choice. I think it's fabulous that a woman can choose to be smooth are furry. And I can very much appreciate smooth. But when someone says pubes are ugly, I find that really sad.
Anything else to add?
Thanks for the insightful questions, Sarah. And Happy Muffember!
