I really hope that studies like this manage to penetrate the medical profession. Too many girls have told me that after they have finally plucked up the courage to tell a professional they cannot have sex for whatever reason, are just told to relax.
I remember going a family planning clinic, sobbing my heart out because I could not have sex. Without offering to examine me or refer me for therapy, they patted my lap and told me to have a "glass of wine and a tickle."
For anyone who does have pain and is not getting a satisfactory answer, try visiting the British Society for the Study of Vulval Disease.
Some of the Open Forumers and I will be taking a trip to a vaginal pain conference in December. Message me here if you would like details.
